2024 Chevy Blazer EV: Driving the Future

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV is the latest offering from the iconic American automaker, which continues its tradition of pioneering electric vehicle (EV) technology. Chevrolet has taken another giant leap into the future of electric vehicles with the Blazer EV. Following in the footsteps of the legendary Blazer SUV, the 2024 model year brings state-of-the-art electric technology to the table while maintaining the SUV’s legendary toughness and adaptability, providing buyers with a green, high-performance driving experience.

What's New in 2024?

A gas-powered Blazer with an electric propulsion system is not the Blazer EV; rather, it is a completely new model in the Blazer family, with its own unique exterior and interior. There are three available trim levels: the entry-level LT and RS sit in the middle, while the SS is the performance-oriented one. A new benchmark for environmentally aware SUVs, the conventional internal combustion engine is swapped out for a state-of-the-art electric propulsion. The 2024 Blazer has an electric drivetrain and a redesigned appearance that keeps the sporting vibe but adds aerodynamic upgrades for better gas mileage.

EV Motor & Performance

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV’s electric propulsion system is its beating heart; it uses the electric motors’ immediate torque to produce thrilling acceleration. With its all-wheel drive capability and two electric motors, the Blazer EV can handle any road condition with ease. This SUV can match the speed and agility of its gasoline-powered competitors with its combined 300 horsepower, allowing it to go from zero to sixty miles per hour in less than six seconds. In addition to improving efficiency, the regenerative braking technology makes driving more fluid by cleverly storing kinetic energy as you slowdown.

Charging & Battery Life

When designing the 2024 Blazer EV’s charging infrastructure, Chevrolet put user convenience and ease of access first. This SUV is quite convenient for long-distance travel because it can be charged to 80% of its capacity in around 30 minutes using DC fast charging stations. The Blazer EV has an anticipated range of more than 300 miles per charge, and its sophisticated battery management system guarantees peak performance and durability. Among the available models, the RS with rear-wheel drive has the longest EPA-estimated driving range at 324 miles; however, if you go for all-wheel drive, that range lowers to 279 miles, and the LT with all-wheel drive is also supposedly capable of 279 miles. Chevrolet has estimated a 290-mile range for the SS trim, but the EPA has not yet rated it. Chevrolet claims that the Blazer EV can add around 78 miles to its range in just 10 minutes when charged on a DC fast charger, which can handle up to 190 kW.

Interior & Technology

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV’s inside is an oasis of modern comfort and technology. The use of high-quality materials throughout sets a tone of elegance and cosiness. Integrating neatly into the dashboard, the high-definition touchscreen display houses Chevrolet’s newest infotainment system and serves as the interior’s focal point. Physical controls for the climate control system and a volume knob encircle the big 17.7-inch infotainment display on the left and bottom, respectively, and it is slightly canted towards the driver in all variants. Drivers can keep connected on the go with this system’s compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It offers access to a plethora of entertainment and connectivity capabilities. For added peace of mind and safety, the Blazer EV is equipped with a range of cutting-edge driver-assistance systems. These include adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, among others.

Infotainment & Connectivity

Physical controls for the climate control system and a volume knob encircle the big 17.7-inch infotainment display on the left and bottom, respectively, and it is slightly canted toward the driver in all variants. Drivers can access additional gauges and driving data on a secondary 11.0 inch screen. General Motors’ most recent infotainment system, available in the Blazer EV, has Google Built-In. Though it lacks support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the software makes it easy to use Google Maps, Spotify, and Waze.  Although many of our employees, including some drivers, may find it annoying, the interface is generally straightforward. Specifically, the navigation system provides useful information, such as an estimated remaining range, arrival times at destinations, and charging station suggestions.

Fuel Economy & Real World MPGe

When it comes to electric SUVs, the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV not only has exceptional performance and range, but it also has the best fuel economy. The Blazer EV’s outstanding economy is showcased by its innovative battery management system and efficient electric motor system, which allow it to attain a projected MPGe rating of over 100. The Blazer EV RS can achieve highway MPGs of up to 88 and city MPGs of up to 103 according to the EPA. The estimations drop to 101 MPGe city and 85 MPGe highway when you choose for the rear-wheel drive variant, compared to the all-wheel drive RS. The Blazer EV is an affordable and practical option for both short trips around town and longer road trips thanks to its impressive efficiency, which drivers can anticipate to pay for in the form of reduced operating expenses in real-world driving circumstances.
