2024 Chevy Trailblazer: A Bold Journey Ahead

While purists may take issue with Chevrolet’s practice of reusing model names for new vehicles, we feel there’s no reason to let a good name go to waste. Even though it was named after a truck-based midsize SUV from the ’90s, the current subcompact Chevy Trailblazer is very different. For many years, the Chevrolet Trailblazer has been an industry standard for SUVs because to its roomy cabin and reputation for toughness. The newest generation of the Trailblazer, introduced by Chevrolet in 2024, carries on this tradition. It’s cosier, easier to park, and more fuel efficient. It has adequate space for passengers and their belongings. A flat-folding front seat, lane keeping assist, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android are some of the standard amenities that enhance the Trailblazer’s allure.

What's New in 2024?

An 8-inch panel with digital gauges that may be customised is the first of a new front screen array that will be standard on the Trailblazer for 2024. Compared to last year’s basic 7-inch (or optional 8-inch) screen, this year’s new 11-inch widescreen infotainment display takes centre stage in the dashboard. The basic grade now comes standard with cruise control for 2024, and all vehicles also have push-button start. The Chevy Trailblazer is a midsize SUV that falls somewhere in the middle of Chevy’s portfolio, between the Trax and the larger Equinox. Rear legroom and load capacity are slightly increased in the updated 2024 Chevrolet Trax compared to the Trailblazer, which is slightly larger and wider. And it’s a little cheaper than that. The Trailblazer, on the other hand, has somewhat higher ground clearance, more power, and the option for all-wheel drive. It’s a good choice for a multipurpose subcompact crossover, but you should definitely check out the Hyundai Kona, the Mazda CX-30, and the Volkswagen Taos, among others.

Engine, Transmission & Performance

Two distinct 1.2-liter and 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engines are available for the Trailblazer, just like they are for the Encore GX. Both offer a power output of 137 and 155 horsepower, respectively. A continuously variable automatic gearbox (CVT) is standard on the 1.2-liter engine and only available with front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is an optional extra on the 1.3-liter. The Trailblazer’s engines are great for both city commuting and interstate adventures because they provide a good mix of performance and fuel efficiency.

For casual drivers, the 1.3-liter engine is more than enough power, but sportier drivers will appreciate the 1.5-liter engine’s extra punch. When paired with agile gearboxes, these motors provide silky acceleration and faultless gear changes, elevating the ride quality. You can confidently navigate any road condition thanks to the available all-wheel drive (AWD), which improves traction and stability.

Fuel Economy & Real - World MPG

The EPA has exclusively released data for Trailblazers equipped with the 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine, rather than the smaller 1.2-liter engine. The 2024 Trailblazer, which has front-wheel drive, achieves an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 31 mpg combined, 29 mpg in the city, and 33 mpg on the interstate. As per the EPA, Trailblazers equipped with all-wheel drive exhibit only a marginal decrease in efficiency, achieving an estimated 27 mpg combined, 26 mpg in the city, and 29 mpg on the highway (1 mpg lower than the 2023 vehicles).

Interior & Technology

The interior isn’t as playful as the outside, but it’s roomy, practical, and, at the higher trim levels, comes with a plethora of useful amenities. The driver sits in a lofty, SUV-like position, while the back seat can accommodate two adults in comfort. The majority of the inside is made of black plastic, but to make it look more expensive, everything has a nice feel. The Trailblazer is state-of-the-art technologically, boasting numerous cutting-edge features that improve connectivity and entertainment. With the infotainment system’s user-friendly touchscreen display, multimedia functions, navigation, and smartphone integration are all at your fingertips. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot ensure that passengers are entertained and connected no matter where the road takes them.

Along with comfort, the 2024 Trailblazer prioritises safety by equipping drivers with a variety of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) that work together to make every trip more bearable. Pedestrians and passengers alike are better protected by these safety measures, which range from front collision alert to lane-keeping assist. An 11.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard on the Trailblazer. It comes with Sirius XM satellite radio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Select LT, ACTIV, and RS trim levels include wireless phone charging, and the Trailblazer’s built-in Wi-Fi hotspot is perfect for passengers who want to stream music, movies, and more.
